Hut and Grounds – Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who came along and generously gave their time and energy to support the Hut and Grounds Working Party on Sunday morning.

Together we completed everything on our to-do list and even managed to go beyond it. Here’s just some of what we achieved together:

  • Stripped, pruned, chopped, and cleared countless bags of weeds, especially along the hedgerows.
  • Took waste to the tip (special thanks to Rob).
  • Fitted a new fuse box cover (thank you, Charles).
  • Cut the grass (thank you, Andy) and tidied the grounds.
  • Hammered in loose nails on the cladding and cleaned out the gutters.
  • Dug out and cleared all the fire pits.
  • Power-washed the sink until it sparkled.

We also made plans for the upcoming Beaver Habitat project at the edge of the site.

A special thank you goes to Hannah for keeping us all well-fuelled with tea, coffee, and cake—it made a big difference.

Extra acknowledgement to the young people from right across our age range – Daniel, Arlo, Toby, Ethan, Alex, Ben, Zac, Oscar and Rafi who got stuck into a whole range of tasks. We were really impressed with your helpfulness and perseverance.. You were a key part of the team.

Thanks again to everyone who made the morning such a success – and especially to Chris and Charles, two of our 6th Lewes Trustees, for all your work behind the scenes.

Just a reminder, the hut is available for hire, and the fees help raise valuable funds for the group. If you know anyone looking for a venue, please don’t hesitate to recommend it – https://6th-lewes-scouts.org.uk/hire-our-hut/ or email Anna (Stanley): hutbookings@6th-lewes-scouts.org.uk
