The 6th Lewes Scouts, Cubs and Beavers are looking for new volunteers to help local young people thrive. We're flexible, so whether you can spare a few hours a month or volunteer more regularly, we'd love to hear from you. No previous Scouting experience is needed.

At the Lewes Scout Group we celebrate difference and welcome everyone. Whatever your background, identity or ability, there's a volunteer spot with your name on it.
Whether you want to work with young people directly or help behind the scenes, there's something for everyone at the 6th.
6th Lewes Scouts are an active, friendly Group. We have Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer sections who meet regularly during term-time at our Scout Hut in Ham Lane, Lewes.
Team player? Love supporting young people? Great at planning? Then we want to hear from you.
Most of our volunteers work directly with young people aged 6-18 through our Beaver, Cub, Scout and Explorer sections – helping them gain skills for life through activities and adventures. Working in teams, they might:
- Welcome young people and families to sessions and events
- Make sure everyone's safe, supported, included and having fun
- Help to plan and lead activities
- Get involved with days out, camps and expeditions
- Share and learn skills – from coding to cake decorating to canoeing
- Celebrate young people's achievements big and small
Happier behind the scenes? There are lots of volunteering opportunities which don't involve working directly with young people. We're always looking for people to help maintain our hut and grounds, or support with administration.
Not sure if you've got time? Whether you'd like to help out regularly or whenever-you-can, we can find a space to suit you.
No previous experience with young people? No problem – we provide training, learning opportunities and cups of tea, every step of the way.
